Meet Me At The Baltimore Book Festival!

I am pleased to announce that I will be a presenting author at this year’s Baltimore Book Festival! If you love books and live within driving distance of Baltimore, come on down to meet your favorite authors, improve your craft as a writer, and of course spend your week’s grocery money on books. During the course of three days more than 200 authors will appear on eight stages.

The When and Where:

Dates: September 28, 29 and 30, 2012

Hours: Friday and Saturday, 12-8pm and Sunday, 12-7pm

Location: Baltimore, Maryland, in historic Mount Vernon Place (the closest landmark is The Walters Art Museum, located at 600 North Charles Street, 21201)

Admission: free! (except that you WILL blow your grocery money on books)

I will be speaking on three panels. If you are interested in meeting me, hearing me speak, and/or getting your copy of one of my books signed, here’s where you can find me:

Friday September 28th:

I will be attending the “Author Meet and Greet” in the Maryland Romance Writer’s tent at NOON (12:00 p.m.)

At 4:00 p.m. I will be on the Maryland Romance Writers Stage discussing “Historical Accuracy in Historical Romance.” Come watch me and my fellow panelists discuss the head-banging that comes with fact-checking, and come prepared with questions!

Saturday September 29th

I will be participating in 2 panels on Saturday (again, all at the Maryland Romance Writers Stage)

At 1:00 p.m., I’ll be sharing the stage with a collection of fantastic authors for the following discussion: “What defines women’s fiction and how does it differ from romance?” Readings and prize giveaways galore!

Finally, at 5:45 p.m. I’m closing out my first festival with two buddies. Come watch me debate with Sophie Perinot (The Sister Queens) and Stephanie Dray (Lily of the Nile, Song of the Nile) about “Sex and Historical Fiction Novelists.” Is there a trend towards more sex in straight historical fiction these days? What role can sex scenes play effectively in historical novels? We rocked the house with this panel in the Reston, Virginia Barnes & Noble in April. If you missed it then you will not want to miss it now.

Mark your calendar! I can’t wait to see you there.
